A coworker brought in an LCD monitor that he claimed was partially
working. It would periodically turn off while in use and it would
take a long time to turn on.
After taking the monitor apart I was able to locate four capacitors
that had failed, all four were puffy and appeared to be leaking.
Here I have replaced the four capacitors that failed on the inverter
board. I also bought extra capacitors because I have 3 more monitors
at home that have this similar problem.
This is the bottom of the board, unfortunately I was unable to get
a picture of the monitor in working condition before my coworker took
the monitor. We left it on for five hours and continously turned it
on and off to test it out and it did work.
